FAIRNESS project update!

If you are having difficulty to understand how to finance your business growth, then the FAIRNESS project is here to support you!
FAIRNESS is an innovative project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus Plus programme (Ref. 2022-1-MT01-KA220-ADU-000086969).

FAIRNESS is coordinated by the Malta Stock Exchange Institute (MSEI), and aspires to provide SMEs with the knowledge and skills required to understand and evaluate the various funding options available.
Through the research we conducted in the five participating European countries (AT, BG, CY, IT, MT), we identified the most relevant financing options for SMEs, along with their accessibility and complexity.
Our main findings revealed the following:
1) Traditional options: Bank loans and overdrafts were seen as most appropriate and easiest to access.
2) Less familiar options: Capital markets, venture capital, and guarantee schemes were seen as less suitable and more challenging to understand and access.
3) Key challenges: Bureaucracy, financial requirements, and application processing were the biggest obstacles identified by SMEs.
But here is the exciting part! The FAIRNESS consortium, is developing a comprehensive online training tool.
Our tool will serve as a one-stop shop and will provide SMEs with all the necessary information to approach the various funding options with confidence.
