FAIRNESS Final Event in Malta: Facilitating access to capital for SMEs

On September 20th 2024, Vernian RTI was represented at the final event of the FAIRNESS project, organised by our project coordinator, the Malta Stock Exchange Institute, at the premises of the prestigious Malta Chamber in Valletta.

Under the theme “Facilitating Access to Capital for SMEs,” the seminar presented the main results of the FAIRNESS project and explored how SMEs and family-run businesses can strengthen their understanding of the different sources of capital available to them.

The event was streamed live and presented the project’s free, research-based online learning resources, designed to help business owners better understand financing options, assess their financial needs and prepare more effectively when considering different forms of funding.

The seminar also provided an opportunity to engage with members of the Maltese business community and other stakeholders, and discuss the practical challenges SMEs face when seeking finance and demonstrate how the FAIRNESS tools can support more informed and sustainable business decisions.

For Vernian RTI, the event marked an important milestone in a two-year European collaboration focused on improving financial knowledge, strengthening SME capabilities and making practical learning resources freely available across Europe.
